CATSWeb Password changes may be initiated via the button or links near the top of the
My CATSWeb page.
- CATSWeb Login and Signature passwords are in effect when CATSWeb
Authentication is used.
- A CATSWeb user must be granted both the
Change Password and My CATSWeb
permission to be able to change their passwords.
-
If the
My CATSWeb page is
not allowed (by revoking the My CATSWeb
permission), the CATSWeb Administrator can
either choose to add a Special Function link
to allow users to navigate to the Change
Passwords page, or can manually reset
passwords from the Employee page.
- CATSWeb Login passwords are
not used when CATSWeb has been configured to use
NT (Active Directory) Authentication or custom
(LDAP) authentication.
-
When NT (Active Directory) Authentication is
enabled, Signature passwords (if used) are
managed within CATSWeb.
- When NT (Active DIrectory)
Authentication is enabled, a password is not
used to Login to CATSWeb.
-
When custom
authentication is in use, the Login passwords are
managed outside of CATSWeb. Signature passwords
may be managed outside of CATSWeb as well.
- CATSWeb Passwords follow a set of rules that
are defined by the CATSWeb Administrator within
Database Properties.
- By default, when CATSWeb Passwords are
changed, both the CATSWeb Login and Signature
password must be changed.
- They cannot be the same.
- Each must meet the minimum requirements
defined within
Database Properties.
- If desired, the CATSWeb Administrator can
configure the ability to change Login and
Signature passwords independently. See CATSWeb Installation Guide for more information.
- If desired, the CATSWeb Administrator can
configure Weak Signature Passwords. This
allows the user's login password to serve as
their signature password. See CATSWeb
Installation Guide for more information.
-
If desired, the CATSWeb Administrator can
configure Dual Authentication for Password Resets.
When this Database Properties option is enabled, two different administrators must collaborate to reset an Employee password.
